EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A Las Cruces man will face a minimum of three years to a potential 22.5 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of criminal sexual contact of a child under 13 and a count of attempt to commit criminal sexual contact of a child under 13, according to the  New Mexico District Attorney’s Office.

The Attorney’s Office states Antonio Alamo Medina, 60, sexually abused the minor during an off-and-on period; the last incident happened when the victim was 12 years old, and she was able to disclose the abuse to her mother.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, on November 20, 2023, Sunland Park Police were contacted by the father of the victim in reference to a Criminal Sexual incident.

During a Forensic interview at the La Piñon Children’s Advocacy Center, the child disclosed several incidences of sexual contact starting when she was in second or third grade. 

The Third Judicial District Court Judge Douglas Driggers will hold sentencing later.
