NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Police in Nicholasville are investigating a homicide and suicide that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to police, around 3 a.m. officers were called to a home on Edwards Drive for a shooting.

Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Isabella Mae Walsh, who had died from two gunshot wounds.

Through an investigation, police identified Walsh’s boyfriend, 21-year-old Willy Milfort Jr., as the suspect. They then determined he had fled the scene and went to his family home on Winner’s Circle.

According to a press release, members of the Nicholasville Police Special Response Team obtained a warrant for Milfort. As the team approached the home, Milford took his own life.

An official with the police department says they wish to extend their sympathies to the families and community members affected by the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
