A man was arrested over the weekend after wielding a machete to threaten people and using it to damage property, according to officials.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was arrested over the weekend after reportedly wielding a machete to make threats and using it to damage property, according to officials.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Dupont Avenue around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The victim told police he and others were sitting around a bonfire when Angel Aguilar Domingo, 45, approached them in a “drunken state,” according to court documents. The victims ignored Domingo and he walked away. Moments later, he reportedly returned with a machete.

Domingo used the machete to strike down bushes close to the victim, who retreated to the backyard out of fear, officials said. Domingo then walked up to a nearby vehicle and used the machete to shatter the back window. After the reported vehicle vandalism, he ran across the street and disappeared from the victims’ view.

When officers arrived they discovered multiple bushes in the yard were chopped in half and a vehicle parked at the scene had a shattered rear window, officials said.

Officers located Domingo at the scene. The machete was found outside of his trailer, behind the house where the incident took place, reports said. After officers heard several matching witness accounts, he was taken into custody.

Domingo is currently being held on a $102,100 bond, facing four felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two misdemeanor counts of vandalism and one count of public intoxication.
